Witchy Woman

Ok- so none of us were witchy in the slightest...but we did enjoy a night out with our men, and without our children, eating and enjoying the Eagles tribute band in St. Joe on Friday!

We ate at Boudreuax's - a cajun seafood & steak place- then hit up the historic Missouri theater for the Eagles.  They are a tribute band that plays in Branson and got voted best show last year, so we thought it would be fun and something to do on a Friday night!  Some of the background videos were a little cheesy- but the music & vocals were really good!  Some of my favs were Take It Easy, Witchy Woman, Peaceful Easy Feelin', One of These Nights, Lyin Eyes, Take It To The Limit, Tequila Sunrise, Life in the fast lane, and of course Hotel California!  We were having a little too good of a time because people kept turning around and shaking their heads at us.... All grey haired people I might add.... come on folks- it's a rock band concert...not the Philharmonic Orchestra!  Oh well- we had a great time, and that's all that mattered!  After the show we all hit up Taco Bell, like anyone one would- then headed home, we even made it in right under the midnight curfew!
Crazy night out, I know! :)

 Fruity cocktails, of course!
 Parents gone wild!
 Love birds
We had really good seats to start out...but the old fogies in front of us were giving us the stink eye- so we went up on the balcony for the rest of the show....mostly because we could enjoy some beverages up there, which we couldn't do on the main level

CoCo Keys Water Resort

A couple of weekends ago we went to Omaha to the CoCo Key's Water Resort. This was one of the presents that we got for Christmas from Mom & Dad- getting the whole gang together. It was lots of fun & just fun hanging out with everyone! We headed up to Omaha on Friday afternoon and came back Sunday afternoon. Wished it was warmer so we could have gone to the zoo and milled around in the old historic district ~ guess we'll have to save that for the next trip!
Talk about convienence!  Potty break in the car on the way to Omaha- don't even have to get out of the car to take care of business!

We also went to the children's museum- and we all had lots of fun there!
(8 adults & 1 child!)

This is her picture of a frog that she drew :)

These two look like they are up to NO good!

We all had way too much fun putting livie up to this thing and getting her imprint!  Her facial expression cracks me up!

Water slide!  We raced down... I won!

"Family Boat" as livie calls it- in the lazy river

 The whole gang!

Even these two raced down the water slide- LOVE their facial expressions!

Playing with Ariel in the pool- what a treat!

Thanks for the super fun weekend M & D!!!!

It's beginning to smell a lot like................. a SKUNK!

I'm an animal lover- I'll admit it.  And I'm compassionate....so just remember that as you're judging me while reading this!!!

Last Tuesday night Greg came inside and said he saw a skunk in the back yard- so out we all went with flashlights....couldnt' find it.  I shrugged it off as his need to use his glasses, and it was probably a cat.  A little while later,  took our steak scraps out to Tilly, our outdoor cat...and what do I see on our back patio....a HUGE skunk going into Tilly's cat house!  I went running to try and shoo it away and Greg is yelling at me to get away from it!  So, I did- and we decided we needed to try and trap this thing!

Wednesday evening he brought a trap home, and Thursday morning when we woke up- here this little guy was.  I felt bad for it cause it's little face was so cute!  I assumed that Greg would take it to work with him, and "take care of it"...and by that, I mean he tells me he lets it go into the wild, and never tells me the actual truth....
Well, he didn't- so he sat there all day in the trap...Then Friday comes, and he still hasn't done anything with it!  Our brother-in-law and nephew decided that they wanted to deal with it, so we left Friday afternoon for our weekend getaway to Omaha with the thought that when we got back - it would be gone.  WRONG.... something about watching a stupid KU game that hindered their ability to do the dirty deed... so we got home Sunday night and the poor little fellow was still in there!  Greg told me that if I could single-handedly get the skunk out of the trap, that we could let it go.  So after half and hour of trying to get him out, in the dark, I finally was able to set him free.  I knew that he had learned his lesson from being in there so long.  (During this time in captivity, he had managed to dig a MASSIVE trench around almost the entire perimeter of the cage!  NICE ONE!)  After a little snack of catfood that I gave him- off he runs into the night.  So, we set the trap again- just in case he hasn't learned his lesson :)

I mean LOOK AT THAT FACE! How could you not want to rescue that little guy! Too cute!

Which brings us to Monday morning...we wake up and there is a skunk in the trap! I couldn't believe it- I ran out there...but it was a different skunk- a much bigger and much more feisty skunk... I go to work, assuming that Greg again will take it to work...nope- come home and he is still there!  Greg states that he is not sure how to broach this issue- afraid that if he gets to close, he'll get sprayed...if he shoots it, then the muscles will relax and the stink will be released that way too.... so we leave him another night... and now we are caught up to today.......

I am getting Livie in the car to leave this morning, and realize I forgot my phone... I go back inside to get it, then when I'm coming out- remember that the forecast for today is RAIN.... I feel kinda bad for this skunk too, so I decide I should put a blanket over part of the cage so he has a little shelter....  He didn't want a shelter.
I totally got sprayed!!!!! Not actually directly- but caught the downwind of it all!  Saw the whole thing happen in slow-mo.  Rear lifted and yellow mist puffing out-- NA-STY!  I thought maybe he missed me and went inside to ask Greg if I smelled like a skunk- he about vomited..had my answer!
Great!  So now I have to do the laundry, wash my hair, take a bath, change my clothes.....  Didn't get to work until an hour and a half later!
Still have the smell of skunk in my house- not sure how to go about getting it out!  I have febreezed the heck out of the house, lit candles, opened the windows... not seeming to help.

I did not get a picture of skunk #2..... but he will be meeting his demise thanks to that little stunt!  I WILL get the last laugh!
(might take me 2 months to get the smell out..but I will laugh then!)

Any tips on getting the smell out????????????

All good things must come to an end :(

Now I really feel like vacation is over since this is my last vaca blog post!  BOO!
Pictures are all uploaded, and my shutterfly scrapbook is almost completed.  Guess it's time to finally get back to reality!

Day 8:  Fun day at Sea

Greg got up early (as usual) and I had specifically given him directions the night before as to which 3 lounge chairs to reserve for the day.  I wanted to be on deck 10, overlooking the pool area, which is where all the action/games take place.  He did his job & it was nice to not have to rush around looking for a place to park it for the day.  I spotted something out of the corner of my eye that caught my attention pretty quickly....a bartender carrying a platter full of these pineapples....filled with some fruity concoction!  YES, PLEASE!
Delish!!!

 Someone longing for the pool

Seriously.....again??? You are starting to embarass us!
This picture will come back to haunt you!! :)

This can't be a good sign...all 3 ship captains on the pool deck?  Who's steering the boat?

One tuckered out little girl- fell asleep in the shower!

The dancing queen is at it again!!! Made it in the show 3 nights in a row!

Had to get a picture with our favorite wait staff!!!  You Loved Maria & Mihaela

and the purple drink rounds out the end of the rainbow :)

Last breakfast on the ship- Livie picked ice cream... however she couldn't even finish it---think someone got thier fill of it on this trip!
We went back to the Westin to spend our last day before heading back to Kansas.  Our flight didn't leave until 6:30 that night so we had the whole day to play!  Coincidentally, one of our best friends from Savannah had a conference at the same hotel, so we got to catch up with him for a while inbetween meetings.  Why didn't I get a picture of that????

Anywhoo- we hit up the pools & beach again & life was grand!  :)  This weather is absolutly blissful!  I miss it!
Swimming to the side "all by herself"
